GREENVILLE, N.C. – Megan Pallozzi scored a game-high five goals to lead East Carolina over visiting Campbell 20-8 Wednesday afternoon at Johnson Stadium.
ECU moved to 2-2 overall with the win, while Campbell dropped to 1-2 after its 2021 road debut.
Pallozzi posted three second half goals, while Camryn Pennypacker and Ellie Bromley each added two scores in the second frame to help ECU outscore the Camels 12-3 in the second half. The Pirates used a 6-0 first half run to lead the Camels 8-5 at the half.
Pallozzi finished with six points on five goals and an assist, while Ally Stanton registered three goals and two assists. Frances Kimel also scored three goals with two ground balls for the Pirates, while Ashley Vernon made 10 saves with a ground ball.
Julianna Sanchez paced Campbell with a season-high three goals, scoring the Camels' first three tallies of the game, with 10 draw controls.
Ally Heath also scored twice, while
Chandler Stewart forced three turnovers with two ground balls.
The Camels will return to Buies Creek on Sunday, February 28, hosting Davidson at 2:00 p.m.
