CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Campbell wrapped up the Green & White Classic today in Charlotte, getting a 6-1 victory over the College of Charleston on the back of another stellar pitching performance by Megan Richards.

With the win, the Camels progress to a record of 7-9 on the season, with the Cougars dropping to 3-13.

Senior Megan Richards (3-1) got her second complete-game victory of the weekend pitching for the Camels. Across the seven innings of work Richards only gave up one run off three hits while striking five C of C batters.

The Cougars' Kylie Burke (1-3) took the loss in the circle, throwing four innings giving up three runs off three hits, and getting two strikeouts.

Claudia Ware would get the Campbell offense going in the third inning, with a two-RBI single to left-center giving the Camels the early 2-0 lead.

The fifth inning would see the Camels' lead increase by three runs as Claire Blount's ground out to second would be enough to bring home Bri Bryant to open the scoring in the inning.

Substitute, Madeleine Whiteley would then single to left field to score Ware before fellow substitute Diana Parker's sacrifice would bring in Kayla Fredendall to see the lead pushed to five after five innings of play.

An insurance run scored in the top of the seventh by Ware on a Whiteley double would be more than enough to secure the win despite C of C getting one run back in the seventh.
