BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Camels completed the sweep of Presbyterian Friday afternoon with a straight-sets win. Campbell's stout defense held the Blue Hose to hitting under .100 for the second consecutive match to lead the way.

 
The sweep was Campbell's third this season and first since the second week of the season. With the win, the Camels improve to 9-3 on the year while Presbyterian drops to 2-10.
 
Campbell held PC to hitting .099 on the day, the sixth time holding an opponent under .100 this season. The defense was paced by another strong outing from Claranne Fechter, who tallied 21 digs today. She has now tallied 20+ in back-to-back matches for the first time this season and averaged 7.5 digs/set for the weekend.
 
It was all Camels in the opening set. The offense came out swinging and posted a .370 hitting percentage in the first. Four of the Camels last six points were aces to give them the 25-12 win.
 
Campbell's defense was strongest in the second set, holding the Blue Hose to hitting an even .000, allowing only six kills and forcing six errors. 15 Campbell kills in the match helped take the set 25-18.
 
As they've done all season with a 2-0 lead, Campbell didn't falter and put it away in straight sets. The third set was closer, with Campbell's lead hovering around three points for most of the set. A 5-1 run capped by an ace from Lailah Green closed it out for another 25-18 win.
 
Melody Paige and Lailah Green both reached double-figure kills for the day, each with 10. Madee Miner dished out 25 assists, her most in a three-set match this season.
 
Campbell's next action will be a tough road test next Thursday and Friday at High Point. The Panthers entered today with a 10-0 record ahead of a doubleheader with Winthrop. More information on those matches will be available closer to time on gocamels.com and @GoCamelsVB on social media.
