Buies Creek, N.C. – Campbell posted its highest hitting percentage of the season in a straight-set win over the Radford Highlanders Thursday night. The Camels hit .424 on the night, their first time over .400 since Sept. 6, 2019.
With the win, Campbell improves to 10-5 on the season while Radford falls to 3-12.
Lailah Green paced the efficient Camel attack with 13 kills on .435 hitting and
Chloe Cook added 15 eight kills on .400 hitting.
Ananda Patterson had a big night, posting season highs in both kills (8) and blocks (6) with an .800 hitting percentage.
Campbell wasted no time jumping out to an early lead, as Green tallied five kills in the opening set while Patterson picked up four quick blocks to set a season-high in just the first set. Campbell went on to take the first set 25-15.
The Camels posted their highest single-set hitting percentage of the year in the second set, hitting a massive .583 with 17 kills on just 24 attacks. Despite Radford posting their biggest set of the night at .364, it wasn't enough to keep up and Campbell grabbed the second set 25-17.
The offense stayed hot and hit over .400 again en route to a 25-13 set win.
Hannah Schneggenburger got in on the action with a pair of third-set kills including the final point to put the match away.
The Camels and Highlanders return to Gore Arena for the regular season finale as well as senior day tomorrow at 2 p.m. Schneggenburger and
Alysha Mitchell will both be honored before the start of the match. The match stream will be available on ESPN+.
