Megan Richards. Richards would be able to force a pop out to end the first, before getting pulled in the second ending her outing after only one and two-thirds innings of work
Kayla Howald came into the game for the Camels and got the final inning via a fly out, preventing any runs from scoring, and would not look back.Â
Howald (3-4), would be perfect for the rest of the game, going for a total of 5.1 innings without surrendering a run, hit, or walk while earning five strikeouts.
A
Destini England RBI single to center in the third inning would all that would be needed to secure the win giving the Camels a 1-0 lead.
Sterling Hairston would provide insurance runs in the fourth inning with a two-RBI double with the bases loaded to push the lead to 3-0.
Gardner-Webb's Brooke Perry (2-10) took the loss going for four innings giving up three runs off seven hits with two walks and one strikeout.
