STILLWATER, OKLA. - The Camels defeated Boston University, 7-1 in the Stillwater Regional of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday, May 22.
The win was a historic one for the Camels, marking only the second NCAA Tournament victory in program history, with the last win coming against North Carolina in 2008.
However, Campbell's tournament run came to an end on Brodie Myers Field at Cowgirl Stadium losing the following game to Mississippi State, 12-0 (5 inn.)
The Camels finished the season with a 28-19 record, and the Big South Regular Season and Tournament Championships, the first time Campbell has achieved the feat.
Game 1 - Campbell 7, Boston U. 1
The Terriers jumped out to an early lead as catcher Lauren Nett sent a two-out fastball screaming down the left field line clearing the wall to put Boston U up 1-0 in the first.
No more runs would be scored by either team till the top of the fourth inning as the Campbell offense exploded for five runs.

Delaney McDilda tied the game with an RBI single up the middle to score
Claire Blount from second.
The Camels then worked the bases loaded for
Morgan Rios to hit an infield single to third base to score pinch-runner Madeline Whiteley before
Noemi Cortez drew a walk to bring in another run making it 3-1 Camels.
In the next at-bat,
Bri Bryant's fielder's choice led to an overthrow from the Boston U shortstop allowing
Sterling Hairston to score.
Claudia Ware brought in the final run of the inning with an RBI single to second base as
Katelyn Chisholm crossed the plate making the score 5-1 in favor of Campbell.
Campbell starter
Georgeanna Barefoot continued her dominance of the Terriers shutting them out for the next two innings.
The offense would repay the favor tacking on two more insurance runs in the top of the seventh courtesy of a McDilda two-RBI single to right center that scored Ware and England.
Barefoot slammed the door on the win striking out the final BU batter to secure the 7-1 victory for the Camels.
Barefoot (14-8) got the win in the circle for the Camels, with a complete game, allowing only one run off six hits while getting five strikeouts.
BU's Ali DuBois (25-2) took the loss for the Terriers going five innings allowing four runs off three hits while getting six strikeouts.
Game 2 - Mississippi State 12, Campbell 0 (5 inn.)
The Bulldogs started hot with two home runs in the first inning to go up 3-0 early.
Campbell looked to respond in the first, getting England and Bryant on second and third base with only one out, before a Blount liner was caught and Bryant was doubled up at second ending the threat.
The offensive barrage from the Bulldogs continued in the third inning which saw Miss. St. post eight runs four of which came via two more home runs as the score ran to 11-0 after three innings of play.
Several Campbell errors led to another run being scored in the top of the fourth for the Bulldogs before the game would end via run-rule in the fifth inning.
Sate's Aspen Wesley (5-4) got the win with no runs surrendered, giving up three hits in three innings of work.
Campbell's
Megan Richards (8-7) ended the season with the loss, giving up six hits and eight runs in two and two-thirds innings pitched.
With the win, Mississippi State now sets up a rematch against regional host and top-seeded No. 5 Oklahoma State tomorrow at 2 p.m.
