2021-22 swimming schedule released

BUIES CREEK, N.C. -- Campbell has announced its 2021-22 swimming schedule, featuring nine total meets with four of them at home.

The Camels will begin their campaign in a dual meet at UNC Pembroke on Sept. 25. Campbell wrapped up the 2021 spring regular season hosting Pembroke, and picked up a 141-115 win over the Braves. After Pembroke, the Camels will not swim on the road again until Nov. 19.

Campbell has four consecutive home meets at the Johnson Aquatic Center during October. The homestand starts by hosting reigning CCSA champion Liberty on Oct. 2, the first of four times the Camels and Flames will meet this season. Campbell turns around six days later to host ECU on a Friday night, Oct. 8.

After a week off, Campbell will host a pair of tri-meets, first welcoming UNC Asheville and UNC Wilmington to Buies Creek on Saturday, Oct. 23. The following Saturday, Oct. 30, sees both Gardner-Webb and Old Dominion come to town.

The fall slate wraps up a few weeks later at the Liberty Invitational in Lynchburg, Va. from Nov. 19-21.

The spring portion of the schedule gets underway early in the second semester with a trip to Georgia Southern on Jan. 15. One final tune-up ahead of the CCSA meet will take place the following Saturday in Lynchburg, Va. with a tri-meet against Liberty and UNC Asheville on Jan 21-22.

The Camels get nearly a month off before returning to Lynchburg for the CCSA Conference Championship at the Liberty Natatorium. The meet will be held over four days, from Feb. 16-19. Campbell placed fifth at the CCSA meet a season ago.

Campbell will bring plenty of experience to the pool this season, with 35 returning swimmers from last year's team. Only five Camels departed while seven incoming freshmen joined the squad.
