PAWLEY'S ISLAND, S.C. – Anna Nordfors won individual honors and Campbell claimed the team title after Tuesday's final round of the Golfweek Fall Challenge at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club.
 
With four golfers among the top 20 individuals, Campbell finished the 54-hole event at 1-over 853 (280-282-291) on the par-71, 6032 layout.  Jacksonville State (286-286-293—865) was second and East Carolina (294-284-289—867) in the 20-team field.
 
The victory was the 91st for Campbell head coach John Crooks and moved him into a tie for second place on the NCAA Division I all-time tournament coaching wins list with Mark Gale of San Jose State (1978-96).  Dan Brooks of Duke (1985-present) is the all-time leader with 140 tourney titles.
 
Nordfors (66-71-71—208) earned her second collegiate crown by shooting a collegiate-best 66 in the opening round and playing the final 36 holes even to edge Lauren Thompson (71-69-69—209) by one stroke.  A senior from Gothenburg, Sweden, Nordfors led the 93-golfer field in par-4 scoring (-5), while playing the par-5s at one-under.  She made 11 birdies – including one to clinch the trophy on the par-four 18th – and 37 pars.
 
Emily Hawkins (71-70-72) finished seventh at even-par 213 for her 10th career top-10 finish.  The senior from Lexington, N.C., led the field with two eagles – both in Tuesday's final round – and tied for fifth with 12 birdies.
 
Tomita Arejola (75-70-74—219) and Patricia Garre Munoz (74-71-74—219) tied for 20th, while Sanna Lundmark (69-75-76—220) tied for 27th.
 
The victory was Campbell's fifth on the Mike Strantz design.  The Camels won the Golfweek Women's Program Challenge at Caledonia in 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2018.
 
Campbell continues its fall season Sept. 26-28 with the Bryan National Collegiate at Bryan Park GC in Greensboro.
