GREENSBORO, N.C. –
Jordan Whitfield's corner three with 0.6 seconds remaining lifted Campbell to a 73-72 win over North Carolina A&T Saturday at the Corbett Sports Center.
Campbell (10-7, 3-3) overcame a late 14-2 Aggie run to win its third in the last four outings and deal A&T (9-11, 4-2) its first home court loss in conference play since 2017.
Messiah Thompson led Campbell with a season-high 20 points, including 5-of-7 from 3-point range, while
Cedric Henderson, Jr. added 18 and hit the 1,000-career point mark in the process. Whitfield added 17 points on 5-of-10 beyond the arc.

After Kameron Langley hit 1-of-2 free throws with 19.5 seconds to play, the Camels trailed by two and called timeout. Whitfield missed a wing three as the clock wound down, but the ball went off an Aggie player and the Camels had one final chance.

In a seesaw game where both teams led by double figures, Campbell made a season-high 15 threes in 31 attempts (.484), shot 52.8 percent overall (28-53) and made enough defensive stops to offset 14 Aggie offensive rebounds that turned into 18 points.

After trailing by as many as 13 midway through the first half, Campbell used a 9-0 run to take a 63-52 lead with 10:53 remaining in the contest on Thompson's step-back three. Henderson knocked down a triple with 7:46 to play that pushed the Camel edge to 68-58 and marked his 1,000th career point.
Henderson then scored on a backdoor cut with 6:11 to play for a 70-62 Camel advantage, but the Camels did not score again for 6:10.
Thomas' wing three trimmed the gap to 70-69 with 3:37 to play and Smith put the Aggies ahead (71-70) for the first time since early in the second half with a baby hook with 41.2 seconds left. Henderson missed in traffic with 23 seconds to go setting up the final sequence.
The Aggies scored the first 10 points of the game and hit five of their first seven threes to build a 30-17 lead with 10:52 to play in the opening half. The Camels, however, clawed back and used a 9-1 run that extended to a 21-9 burst. Thompson's three at the end of the shot clock cut the margin to 39-38 with 2:13 to play.
Ricky Clemons' drive to the bucket trimmed A&T's halftime lead to 44-43 and provided the Camels with their highest scoring half this season against a Division I opponent.
