BUIES CREEK, N.C. – After posting a collegiate-best third-place finish at The Club at Olde Stone Intercollegiate,
Isabella Hahne of Campbell University has been named Big South Conference women's golf freshman of the week.
Hahne posted her third top-15 finish in four starts this season where she was even par (73-73-70—216) in an event where only two players finished in red numbers. A native of Kungsbacka, Sweden, Hahne concluded the event with 10 birdies (tied for seventh in the 72-player field), while ranking third in par-5 scoring (-2) and fifth on the par-4 holes (even).
Her final round included four birdies and 13 pars. The only blemish on her scorecard was a double bogey on the par-four 10th hole. Hahne opened the year with top-15 finishes at the Golfweek Fall Challenge and the Golf Iconic Classic. She owns a 73.9 stroke average over 12 rounds.
As a team, the Camels finished fourth overall and placed ahead of Indiana and Notre Dame. CU concluded its fall schedule with three top-5 finishes in four tournaments, including a win at the Golfweek Fall Challenge.
Campbell returns to action Feb. 13-14 with the Sea Best Intercollegiate at San Jose CC in Jacksonville, Fla.
Hahne's honor is Campbell's fourth Big South weekly honor this year.
