BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Off to its first 2-0 start since 2014-15, Campbell hosts UCF Tuesday night at Gore Arena. UCF, the reigning American Athletic Conference champions, is receiving votes in both AP and USA Today national polls.
The game will be broadcast on ESPN+ with Evan Budrovich and the legendary Wanda Watkins providing commentary.
LAST TIME OUT
- Shy Tuelle and Gianni Boone scored 13 points each and Campbell defeated NC Central, 71-55, this past Saturday in Durham
- Courtney Dahlquist added 11 points while Brittany Staves scored 10 for the Camels who improve to 2-0 to start a season for the first time since 2014-15
- Campbell also forced 27 turnovers, marking the most against a Divison I oppenent since 2019

SCOUTING THE KNIGHTS
- UCF opened the season with a 72-32 win over Winthrop last Monday. The Knights had their next game against Mercer, scheduled for last Thursday, canceled due to Tropical Storm Nicole.
- Four Knights scored in double-figures led by 14 points by freshman forward Bryana Hardy and a 12 points, 11 rebound double-double by senior forward Destiny Thomas
- UCF entered the 2022-23 season with six returners and seven newcomers. Last season UCF finished 26-4 overall and 14-1 in the American Athletic Conference (AAC). The Knights won the AAC Tournament and made it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament after defeating Florida in its opening game
- The Knights welcome an all-new coaching staff led by head coach Sytia Messer who previously coached for three seasons at Tennessee Tech (2008-12)
- UCF was picked to finish 8th out of 11 teams in the preseason American coaches' poll
- UCF is currently receiving votes in the AP and USA Today national polls

SHY'S CAREER WEEK
- Shy Tuelle's opening week saw the graduate guard match career-highs and break single-game bests
- In Monday's season opener Tuelle connected on 7-of-12 threes and had 23 points, both career-high tying marks
- Tuelle also became the first Camel to record 200 career threes in the win
- On Saturday, the graduate guard tied for a team-high 13 points and dished out a career best eight assists in a win at NC Central
CU DEBUTS
- Four players made their Campbell debuts in the season opener against NC Wesleyan
- Graduate transfer guard Erika Joseph came off the bench and totaled eight points, six rebounds and a career-high five assists
- Freshman guard Gianni Boone started the game and totaled six points, four rebounds and one steal in 12 minutes of action
- Other freshmen guards Logan Nuckols (six points, one assist) and Gemma Nunez (two points, two rebounds, two assists) came off the bench for their collegiate debuts

- Under head coach Ronny Fisher, Campbell has compiled a 65-25 (.718) record at home including a 34-8 (.807) mark over the past five seasons, including 2022-23
