BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell is set to host No. 8 NC State Wednesday night at 5 p.m. at Jim Perry Stadium. The game will be streamed on ESPN+. All bleacher seats are sold out, but standing room only seats and grass Hump seating will be available at the gate.
The Camels (2-6) will look to win their second in a row following the walk-off win Monday over Air Force. To do so, they will have to hand the Wolfpack (8-0) their first loss of the season.
NC State is the first top-10 team to visit Jim Perry Stadium since 2019, when No. 9 ECU and No. 10 NC State both made trips to Buies Creek that season. Campbell's win over ECU in 2019 was the program's last win over a top-10 squad.

Series History
The Camels and Wolfpack have met 71 times since the first meeting in 1971, with Campbell holding a record of 18-52-1. The teams met once last season, a 14-6 win for NC State in Raleigh on March 2. Over the last 10 meetings, the teams have split the series 5-5. The last of those wins for the Camels came at the 2019 Greenville Regional, where Campbell knocked off No. 15 NC State 5-4 in the first round of the regional.
Last Time Out
Campbell got a much-needed win thanks to a walk-off two-run home run from
Drake Pierson. The win snapped a six-game losing streak, the longest since the team lost eight in a row in 2015.
Trailing 3-1, Pierson turned on a two-out, 2-0 breaking ball and kept it just inside the foul pole in left field to bring in
Zach Neto from second base as well. It was CU's first walk-off home run since 2017.
About NC State
The Wolfpack own one of the most prolific offenses in the nation, averaging 14 runs per game through their first eight contests. The Pack have gone deep 18 times and put up 112 runs so far. As a team, they lead the nation in hits and doubles, and are second in batting average and runs scored.
The offense is headlined by freshman slugger Tommy White, the nation's leader in home runs (9) and RBI (29) in his first eight games. He is far from the only threat, as seven of their everyday starters are batting over .300 on the season, led by J.T. Jarrett's .591 mark.
Logan Adams is expected to get the start on the mound. A transfer from the College of Central Florida, he owns a 1-0 record in one start so far this season, going 5.2 innings against High Point on Feb. 22.
NC State was picked to finish second in the ACC Atlantic Division in the league's preseason poll.
