CHARLESTON, S.C. - Charleston Southern defeated Campbell 4-1 on Saturday at the CSU Softball Complex.
Charleston Southern pitcher Annah Junge (5-5) kept the Campbell offense at bay, limiting CU to two hits on the day. Georgeanna Barefoot (6-3) took her third loss on the season for the Camels after giving up three earned runs in the contest.
The Buccaneers jumped out to an early lead on a RBI double by Raleigh Lewis and a sacrifice fly from Gracie Prince in the first inning.
Campbell answered in the third inning as Samantha Fontaine reached on an infield single. A bunt-single from Claudia Ware gave the Camels runners on each of the corners. A well-timed double steal put a run on the board for the Camels as Fontaine scored.
The Bucs added two more runs later in the fourth inning on two hits and a CU error.
