BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Delaney McDilda's sacrifice fly in the 11th inning gave Campbell a 5-4 win over UNC Greensboro Wednesday night at Amanda Littlejohn Stadium.
Campbell improves to 26-14 overall while UNCG falls to 31-12.
McDilda put the Camels on the board in the first inning with a three run home run to left field. The Spartans answered with three runs in the third inning on a solo home run and 2 RBI double.
The game remained knotted at 3-3 until the eighth inning when Jordan Gontram's ground rule double bounced off the knee of McDilda at third base and went out of play, scoring a run after a runner was placed automatically at second base via the international tiebreaker rule.
Campbell tied it up in the bottom half of the inning on a 2-out RBI double by Noemi Cortez.
After two more scoreless innings, including a close call at the plate on Samantha Fontaine's attempted sacrifice fly in the ninth, Campbell scored the walk-off run in the 11th.
Alyssa Henault was placed on second base to start the 11th, taking third base following a well-executed sacrifice bunt by Claudia Ware. Henault reached home on a deep fly out hit by McDilda to end the game.
Isabella Smith (11-6) picked up the win for the Camels after pitching the final 3.2 innings, walking one batter and striking out five. Morgan Scott (19-8) took the loss after tossing all 10.2 innings, where she allowed five hits and three earned runs while striking out 10.
