GREENSBORO, N.C. - Campbell shutout NC A&T for a third time and earned an 8-0 (5 inn.) run-rule win Sunday afternoon at the Aggie Softball Complex.
Winners of six straight, Campbell (20-11, 8-4), held NC A&T (12-21, 2-10) without a run for a third time for the shutout series sweep.
Isabella Smith (9-5) tossed her second complete game shutout on the weekend, allowing two hits and striking out nine batters in the five game. In the series Smith struck out 21 batters in 12 innings, giving up a combined four hits and walking just three batters.
Tyra Parker went 3-for-3 with a RBI triple while Diana Parker went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Delaney McDilda and Noemi Cortez both added RBI for the Camels.
CU took advantage of three errors by NC A&T, scoring three runs off of miscues by the Aggies.
Starting pitcher Joey Barkhimer (5-4) took the loss in the circle for A&T after giving up four hits and three earned runs in one inning of work.
