BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Coastal Carolina defeated Campbell 4-1 Wednesday afternoon at Amanda Littlejohn Stadium.
Campbell (20-12) saw its six-game win streak snapped as Coastal Carolina (15-20) ended a three-game skid.
After giving up a first inning run the Camels knotted the score at 1-1 in the next inning. Claudia Ware reached on a bunt single, moved to second on a groundout and scored on a RBI single by Kayla Fredendall.
The Camels put runners in scoring position in each of the final three innings but failed to score.
Coastal Carolina's Iyanla De Jesus went 4-for-4 at the plate with one RBI while Shae Schreckengost hit 2-for-3 with two RBI.
The Chanticleers used six pitchers in total who combined to give up three hits, one walk and one earned run. De Jesus (1-2) picked up the win after entering the game in the second inning.
Georgeanna Barefoot (9-4) took her fourth loss of the season for the Camels after giving up two runs on seven hits with four strikeouts.
