ROCK HILL, S.C. - Campbell earned a series sweep over Winthrop with a 7-3 win Sunday at Terry Field.
Campbell (31-15, 18-6) remains in a three-way tie with Presbyterian and Longwood for second place in the Big South standings and one game off from first place USC Upstate. The Camels own the head-to-head tiebreaker over PC and Longwood after winning series against both teams this season.
Delaney McDilda led the way for Campbell, going 3-for-4 at the plate with two RBI and two runs. Tyra Parker went 2-for-3 including a two-RBI triple.
Noemi Cortez, Alexa Pagano and Danielle Northrup all collected RBI as well for the Camels who posted 10 hits on the day.
Georgeanna Barefoot (14-5) retired the first nine batters she faced before exiting after the fifth inning following a one hour lightning delay. Barefoot finished giving up just two hits, one earned run and striking out four batters in five innings of work.
Kayla Howald replaced Barefoot following the lightning delay, allowing one run off of one hit and striking out one batter in two innings.
Reese Basinger (10-12) took the loss in the circle for the Eagles after allowing six hits and four runs.
