BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Campbell fell 12-2 to nationally ranked #11/13 Duke Tuesday night at Amanda Littlejohn Stadium.
Campbell falls to 31-16 overall in its final midweek contest while the Blue Devils improve to 37-7.
Duke took a 3-0 lead to start the game but the Camels answered in the bottom of the first. Alyssa Henault hit a leadoff single up the middle of the field and was sent home as Claudia Ware crushed a double to left center. Alexa Pagano finished the inning with an RBI single to right center.
The Blue Devils tallied one run in the three of the next four innings before scoring six runs to close out the game.
Henault went 2-for-4 with one run while Tyra Parker went 2-for-3 at the plate for the Camels.
Kristina Foreman and Ana Gold led the Blue Devils with three RBI on the night while Gisele Tapia knocked in two.
Isabella Smith (13-7) took the loss after tossing 1.1 innings, allowing two earned runs. Georgeanna Barefoot entered in relief, throwing 5.0 innings allowing five earned runs and striking out eight. Jaimee Hardy made her second appearance in the circle this season to close out the game, striking out one batter in the seventh.
Jala Wright (10-2) picked up the win for Duke after throwing four innings, allowing two runs off of three hits and striking out six.
