Camels finish 11th at NCAA Stillwater Regional

10th-straight NCAA postseason appearance for Big South champs

STILLWATER, OKLA. – Campbell closed out its 10th-consecutive NCAA postseason appearance Wednesday with an 11th-place finish at the NCAA Stillwater Regional at Karsten Creek Golf Course.

No. 17 Baylor (292-285-288—865) claimed team honors and earned a spot in the NCAA finals along with No. 7 Arizona State (303-292-289—879), host and 6th-ranked Oklahoma State (296-298-287—881) and No. 19 Auburn (313-292-276—881).
 
The top four teams (and top two individuals from non-qualifying teams) from each of six regional sites advance to the NCAA Championship May 20-25 at Grayhawk Golf Club (Raptor Course) in Scottsdale, Ariz.
 
Maddison Hinson-Tolchard of Oklahoma State (72-71-69—212) won individual honors by one stroke over a trio of Baylor players – Rosie Belsham, Britta Snyder and Gurleen Kaur.  Only four players in the 59-golfer field finished the event in red numbers.
 
Furman's Anna Morgan (74-75-67—216) earned an individual berth in the NCAA Championship as did Michigan State's Leila Raines (75-73-71—219), who won a three-way playoff for the final spot.
 
Six-time defending Big South champ Campbell was led by senior Anna Nordfors (73-74-79—226), who finished 29th.  Fellow senior Emily Hawkins finished T47th (82-74-81—237), while sophomore Sanna Lundmark turned in the team's low round of the day and finished 52nd (80-81-78—239).  Tomita Arejola was 53rd (80-81-82—243) and Patricia Garre Munoz 57th (89-81-83—253).
 
Under the direction of head coach John Crooks, the Camels made their 24th NCAA regional appearance in the last 29 years.
