Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Camels defeat High Point 4-0, unbeaten in last 7

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Campbell scored four times in the first half and earned a 4-0 victory over High Point Wednesday at Eakes Athletics Complex. It marks the largest margin of victory over the cross-state rivals.

The Fighting Camels (6-3-2) extend their unbeaten streak to seven matches (6-0-1) and sit tied on top of the Big South standings with Radford at 2-0-1. High Point falls to 2-8-2 overall and 1-2 in conference play.

Sophomore Reagan Baiotto put the Camels ahead in the 11th minute when she scored on an assist from Elyssa Nowowieski.

Senior Amber Liston doubled the lead in the 19th minute as Mary Tierney passed to Jackie Richards who dribbled down the left side of the field into the box and passed to Liston who shot past the Panthers keeper for the goal.

Richards added a goal herself in the 25th minute as she headed in a long cross in the box from Cazzi Norgren

Laney Peabody added a header off a Tierney corner kick in the 39th minute to cap the first half scoring onslaught.

It marked the first goals of the season for Baiotto, Liston and Peabody while Richards recorded her second goal of the year.

High Point was held without a shot on goal until the 74th minute as Axelle Touzeau's shot was swallowed up by Campbell keeper Sierra Vance

The Panthers best chance on the night came in the 85th minute as the Panthers crossed in a corner into the box. High Point had three shots blocked as the ball found Touzeau as her shot on goal was stopped by a goal-line save from Tierney.

Campbell outshot High Point 24-9, including a 14-1 margin in the first half alone, and had 11 opportunities on goal to the Panthers three. The Camels also held an 11-2 edge on corner kicks.

Vance picked up her first shutout in her second career start between the posts, totaling three saves. Morgan Hairston had seven saves in goal for the Panthers.

The Camels return to action on Saturday on the road at Gardner-Webb (7-4-2, 2-1).
