BUIES CREEK, N.C. – After going undefeated at the 2023 Virginia Duals, Campbell's Gabriel Hixenbaugh has been named Southern Conference Wrestler of the Week for the second time this season.

Hixenbaugh went 4-0 at 133 pounds at the Virginia Duals, including a 2-0 decision over No. 30 Wyatt Henson of Oklahoma. The redshirt junior also posted a pair of tech fall wins, topping Kent State's Brendon Fenton 18-3 (7:00) and Maryland's Conner Quinn 15-0 (5:37), helping CU defeat the 23^rd-ranked Terrapins. He added a 5-2 decision over South Dakota State's Derrick Cardinal in Saturday's finale.

The Alabaster, Ala. native is now 14-1 on the season. He also took SoCon weekly honors on November 16.

Next up, Campbell returns home to host the 2023 Chippewa Challenge on January 22. The Camels will entertain Central Michigan, CSU Bakersfield and American in the second year event.
