BUIES CREEK, N.C. – After taking a win over a nationally ranked opponent in his season debut, Campbell's Gabriel Hixenbaugh has been named Southern Conference Wrestler of the Week.

Hixenbaugh posted a ranked win in his only match of the week, topping No. 18 Joey Melendez from North Carolina in a 7-3 decision at the Battle at Bragg.

The win was the redshirt junior's season debut, overcoming a 3-1 deficit in the second period in the victory.

Next up, CU will travel to the Life University Open on Saturday, November 19. CU will head to the Army Black Knight Invitational on November 20 before making its home debut on December 4, hosting Virginia.
