Box Score BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Campbell rolled by UNC Asheville 64-40 Saturday afternoon at Gore Arena.
Campbell (8-7, 3-1) never trailed and led by as many as 30 against the Bulldogs (5-10, 1-3).
The Camels held UNC Asheville without a bucket for the opening six minutes and led 26-12 at halftime, marking the fewest points allowed in a half this season.
Christabel Ezumah led CU with 10 points and 13 boards for her third double-double of the season. Gianni Boone and Brittany Staves added 10 points each while Audrey Fuller and Erika Joseph had nine points apiece. Svenia Nurenberg recorded six points, nine rebounds, three steals and two assists.
Campbell pulled down 51 rebounds, including a season-high 22 offensive boards. CU also outscored UNCA 38-16 in the paint, 15-2 on fast breaks. The Camels forced 17 turnovers and converted those into 19 points. The Bulldogs made just 29.1 percent (16-55) of their shots.
Dakota McCaughan led the Bulldogs with nine points off the bench.
The Camels return to action next Wednesday with a 7:00 p.m. tip-off against USC Upstate at Gore Arena.
