Women's Hoops adds four to 2024 class

Ciara Alexander, Mikayla Taborn, Emerson Thompson and Olivia Tucker set to join program ahead of 2024-25 season

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Campbell Women's basketball head coach Ronny Fisher has announced the signings of Ciara Alexander, Mikayla Taborn, Emerson Thompson and Olivia Tucker to the program's class of 2024.

"We are excited to welcome four amazing young women into our Campbell Women's Basketball Family," said Coach Fisher. "This is certainly one of the most talented classes we have recruited at Campbell and these four student-athletes fit perfectly into the "Sweat and Serve" culture that our players and coaches have established. All four players come from wonderful, supportive families and they all have competed in championship caliber programs both in high school and travel-ball as well. This is certainly a high-quality recruiting class and it is a great day for the future of our program!"
 



Ciara Alexander
Atlanta, Ga. | 6-0 | Guard | Mount Paran Christian

  • Guard out of Mount Paran Christian, playing under coach Stephanie Dunne
  • Averaged 13.7 points, 8.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game last season as a junior
  • Led Mount Paran Christian to state championship and region championship
  • Earned first team all-state and all-region honors as a junior
  • Named Georgia Basketball Coaches Association (GBCA) All-Star
  • Played club basketball with FBC Legacy, averaging 12.5 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.2 assists
  • Ranked #3 on GUAA rebounding leaderboard for 17U
  • Daughter of Courtney and Joiel Alexander
  • Has two siblings, Courtney and Cameron
  • Father, Courtney, was consensus All-American and played college basketball at Virginia and Fresno State (1995-00). Was drafted 13th overall by Orlando Magic in 2000 NBA Draft, played 187 games in the NBA with Dallas Mavericks, Washington Wizards and New Orleans Hornets.
  • Brother, Courtney, played basketball at Tennessee Tech and is currently playing professionally overseas

Mikayla Taborn
Youngsville, NC | 6-3 | Forward | Franklinton HS

  • Guard at Franklinton High School, playing under Coach Hockaday and Perry
  • Averaged 12 points, 10 rebounds as a junior at Franklinton HS
  • Two-time all-conference selection
  • Was selected as Most Valuable Player of her team, named player of the game 13 times and received the WRAL Extra Effort award during the 2022-23 season
  • Played club basketball with CP3 Flames under coach Arne Morris
  • Also played volleyball in high school, was named to all-state and all-conference team in 2022-23
  • Daughter of Ronnie and Nicole
  • Has one sibling, Asher
  • Plans to major in biology/pre-med

Emerson Thompson
Butner, NC | 5-10 | Guard | Falls Lake Academy

  • Guard at Falls Lake Academy under head coach (and father) Brad Thompson
  • Three-time conference player of the year, two-time district player of the year
  • Named to third team All-State as a junior after averaging 21.3 points, 10.3 rebounds, 9.1 assists and 3.9 steals
  • Scored over 1,000 points in her prep career
  • Has helped lead Falls Lake Academy to three regular season and conference tournament titles as well as the final four of the NCHSAA 1A state playoffs in 2022-23
  • National Honor Society inductee
  • Played club basketball with Lady Strong/Strong Center 2024 under coach Danny Strong
  • Daughter of Brad and Jennifer
  • Plans to major in sports communications/marketing

Olivia Tucker
Durham, NC | 5-7 | Guard | Panther Creek HS

  • Guard at Panther Creek HS, playing under coaches Danielle Sullivan and Isaac Bristol
  • Has helped Panther Creek to three conference titles and state championship title in 2022-23
  • Averaged 16.8 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.0 steals as a junior, selected as state championship MVP
  • Played club basketball with Boo Williams
  • Daughter of Kelan and Bobbi
  • Has two siblings, Jalen and Kelani
  • Plans to major in sports medicine
Campbell (1-0) opened its eighth season under Coach Fisher with a 108-37 win over NC Wesleyan on Monday, Nov. 6. The Camels head on the road with games at Coppin State (Nov. 9) and Virginia (Nov. 12).
