BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell prevailed 3-1 over Purdue Thursday afternoon at Amanda Littlejohn Stadium.
The Camels jumped on the board first with a two-out RBI triple from
Makayla McClain and an RBI double from
Kayla Thomas.
The Boilermakers' lone run came unearned in the top of the third off a sacrifice fly by Becca Edwards, scoring Khloe Banks.
In the bottom of the sixth,
Madilyn Gillespie hit a single through the left side scoring
Tyra Parker to give the Camels a 3-1 advantage.
Isabella Smith (3-1) earned the win pitching a complete game, striking out six and only allowing three hits. Alex Echazaretta (0-2) received the loss after pitching 1.2 innings allowing two runs on two hits.
