Camels remain in sixth after day two at CCSA

KNOXVILLE, TENN. – Campbell remains in sixth following the second day of action at the CCSA Championships. Two more school records were topped on the day.
 
Izza Gaskey highlighted the morning time trials by setting a a school record in the 50 breast with a time of 28.66.
 
Piper Burton posted Campbell's highest individual finish of the meet so far, qualifying for the A Final of the 100 fly and finishing eighth overall with a time of 55.75. Meredith Ashburn reached the finals of the same event, finishing 20th.
 
A trio of Camels finished in order in the 400 IM finals. Kristine Mikklesen, Maialen Sudupe, and Lauren McClean finished 14-15-16, respectively. Mikklesen touched in 4:31.18, with Sudupe just behind at 4:31.35, and McClean at 4:31.63.
 
The 400 medley team capped the night in style with a new school record of 3:44.22. The team featured Laura Lopez, Izza Gaskey, Piper Burton, and Elishka Hajek.
 
The meet resumes tomorrow with more prelims at 10 a.m., followed by finals at 6 p.m.
