KNOXVILLE, TENN. – The Fighting Camels jumped two spots and set three more school records on the final day of the CCSA Championships to finish in sixth place at the conference meet.
Campbell's 32 swimmers at the CCSA Championship combined to swim 39 personal bests and break 10 school records during the four-day meet.
Meredith Ashburn turned in a fifth-place finish in the 100 free with a time of 50.34. Her qualifying time of 50.21 was good for a new school record as well. Renshaw and Hajek both made the evenings finals in the event, finishing 20 and 21, respectively.
Izza Gaskey's qualifying time of 2:18.41 was good for another school record. Gaskey returned for the night's finals and finished tenth. Piper Buton and
Brenna Divoky finished 16 and 19 in the event.
Kat Gagnon was Campbell's top finisher in the 1650 free, posting a 17:05.97.
The Camels set another school record in the final event, with the 400 free relay team clocking in at 3:23.64. The record-breaking team featured
Elishka Hajek,
Colleen Renshaw,
Laura Lopez, and
Meredith Ashburn and finished fifth.
Liberty won the meet for the sixth consecutive year.
