BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Camels swept Saturday's games at the Campbell Invitational, defeating Furman (4-14) and NC Central (1-15).
Game 1 – Furman 3, Campbell 7
Campbell took the lead in the second inning with a single from
Allyiah Swiney. The Camels added four more runs in the fourth and one in the sixth.
Alyssa Henault went 3-4 with two runs and an RBI and
Claudia Ware went 2-4 with a run and two RBIs.
The Paladins plated two runs in the sixth with a double from an RBI Hana Hashioka and an RBI single from Slyvia Burroughs.
Hashioka went 2-2 with one run and one RBI. Ashlee Lykins went 1-3 with an RBI and a walk.
Kayla Howald (3-2) earned the win pitching six complete innings allowing three runs on six hits and only walking one.
Lauralee Scott (1-4) was dealt the loss allowing four earned runs on eight hits and only striking out one.
Game 2 – NC Central 1, Campbell 8
The Camels scored their first run on a squeeze bunt from
Charlie Montgomery scoring
Delaney McDilda. Campbell added two runs in both the fourth and the fifth then three in the sixth.
Allyiah Swiney 1-1 with two RBIs, two walks and a stolen base and
Madilyn Gillespie went 1-2 with two runs and two RBIs.
The Eagles scored their only run in the top of the second inning on an RBI single from Jai'lyn Edwards.
Edwards went 1-2 with an RBI and Jaden Davis went 1-3 with a walk and a stolen base.
Isabella Smith (7-4) earned the win pitching all seven innings only allowing one run on four hits and striking out seven.
Jaden Davis (0-6) received the loss giving up four runs on two hits and walking three.
