BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The Fighting Camels (13-7) defeated Furman (4-15) on Sunday in the final game of Campbell Invitational by a score of 7-5.
Campbell jumped on the board in the first in an RBI single in the first from
Lindsey Hunt. The Camels put together a three run fifth inning off two hits and a Furman error.
Allyiah Swiney went 1-2 with three RBIs and a run scored.
Makayla McClain went 2-3 with two runs and
Lindsey Hunt went 2-3 with a run and an RBI.
Slyvia Burroughs hit a two-run home run in the sixth for Furman and then added the Paladins put up two more runs in the seventh.
Burroughs finished 1-3 with a run and two RBIs and Ashlee Lykins finished 2-4 with two runs. Ainsley Yoshizumi went 1-4 with three RBIs.
Isabella Smith (8-5) pitching six innings allowing two runs on seven hits and recording ten strikeouts.
Isabella Cear (0-1) was given the loss pitching two innings giving up five runs on six hits and walking one batter.
