CONWAY, S.C. - Coastal Carolina defeated Campbell 3-0 Wednesday night at St. John Stadium.

Campbell falls to 13-8 on the season while Coastal Carolina, winners of four straight, improves to 19-3 overall.

The Chanticleers struck early on a Diamond Williams leadoff homer in the first and later added runs in the third and fourth innings.

Campbell, shut out for only the third time this season, threatened in the third when Tyra Parker earned a walk, stole second and advanced to third on a wild pitch.

The Camels put runners in scoring position again in the sixth as Lindsey Hunt knocked her second single of the game and Madilyn Gillespie doubled to center.

Isabella Smith (8-6), who entered the game ranked second nationally with 81.2 innings pitched, took the loss for the Camels after tossing 3.1 innings while giving up five hits, three runs and striking out three. Kayla Howald finished the game in the circle, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out one across the final 2.2 innings.

Iyanla De Jesus (3-1) picked up the win for the Chanticleers after throwing four innings.

Campbell returns home this weekend to host Detroit Mercy in a three game series starting Friday with a doubleheader on Saturday.
