Five Camels earn Big South awards

Hahne named freshman of the year, Lundmark top scholar-athlete

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Five members of Campbell's Big South women's golf championship team earned all-conference awards for the 2022-23 season.
 
Isabella Hahne was named freshman of the year by league head coaches, while conference communications professionals selected Sanna Lundmark as scholar-athlete of the year.  Patricia Garre Munoz joined Hahne on the all-conference first team, while Tomita Arejola and Lundmark were second-team choices.  Taylah Ellems and Hahne earned all-freshman team recognition.
 
The Camels won the stroke play portion of the Big South Championship last Friday, then defeated Charleston Southern (3-2) and High Point (3-2) to capture the match play title Saturday at The Links at Stoney Point in Greenwood, S.C.
 
CU claimed its ninth Big South title since 2012 and its seventh-consecutive league championship.
 
Campbell will compete in the NCAA regionals for the 11th consecutive season.  The 2023 regional field will be announced on Apr. 26 at 1:00 p.m. EDT on GOLF Channel.
 
Isabella Hahne | Freshman | Kungsbacka, Sweden
2023 Big South Freshman of the Year, All-Conference First Team, All-Freshman Team, All-Championship Team… Ranked second among Big South players in stroke average… Seven top-20 finishes, including three top-10s… Finished T5 (75-76-74—225) at Big South Championship and went 2-0 in match play… Finished T1st (70-76-69—215) to lead CU to team title at Sea Best Intercollegiate at San Jose.  Also placed T3 at Olde Stone Intercollegiate... Played par, or better, golf in seven rounds… Four-time Big South freshman of the week, who was also named golfer of the week Feb. 16.

2023 Big South Scholar-Athlete of the Year, All-Conference Second Team, All-Academic Team… Ranks 6th among Big South stroke average leaders (74.81) while posting a 3.951 GPA as a business management major… 2-time WGCA All-America Scholar and Big South Presidential Honor Roll member… Name 2nd team all-conference for 2nd-straight year… Four top-20 finishes, including two top-10s… Placed 6th at The Southern, where she was CU's low individual… Named Big South golfer of the week Mar. 9…  Placed T23 in the 2023 Big South Championship stroke play before winning her semifinal match 7&6 to help the Camels capture the team title...
 
Patricia Garre Munoz | Senior | Murcia, Spain
2023 Big South All-Conference First Team… Produced her sixth career top-10 finish with a 9th-place performance at the Big South Championship stroke play, then went on to go 2-0 in match play… Season stroke average of 74.95 is seventh in the league… Finished 3-0 in Big South match play finals the last 3 year, including the deciding points 2022 and 2021… Season-best 8th-place finish at the Olde Stone Intercollegiate...  Named Big South golfer of the week Mar. 16.  She produced the deciding point in the last two Big South Championship match play finals, including a title-winning birdie putt on the 22nd hole in 2022… Second-team all-conference in 2022 and all-freshman team in 2021…
 
Tomita Arejola | Senior | Quezon City, Philippines
2023 Big South All-Conference Second Team, All-Championship Team… Runner-up in Big South Conference Championship stroke play (76-76-68—220) to earn All-Championship honors for 2nd-straight season… Produced deciding point in Big South match play final on the 18th hole… Three top-10s in nine events this season… Posted a 74.12 scoring average (2nd in the Big South)… Runner-up at the season-opening Golfweek Fall Invitational (70-70-65—205, -8), where she shot a collegiate low 65 (-6) in the final round... Finished T6 in the 2021 Big South Championship stroke play and 5th in 2022… 2022 Big South Scholar-Athlete of the Year and 2nd-team all-conference… Also qualified for the 2021 and 2022 US Women's Amateur… Played her first two years at Fairleigh Dickinson, where she was named Northeast Conference Golfer and Freshman of the Year in 2019…

2023 Big South All-Freshman Team… Competed in eight events and produced a 77.27 scoring average… Competed in two of three stroke play rounds and both match play contests for Big South Champions… T32nd in collegiate debut (69-74-76—219) at Golfweek Fall Challenge, where she helped Campbell win team title and posted her best score of the season in the opening round… Also in lineup for CU wins at Sea Best Intercollegiate at San Jose and Big South…
