Camels win fourth straight, down Wofford 22-3

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Twelve Camels registered points, leading Campbell over visiting Wofford 22-3 on Saturday at Barker-Lane Stadium.

Campbell won its fourth straight, improving to 8-4 overall and 4-0 in Big South games, while Wofford dipped to 5-7 on the season and 2-2 in conference play.

CU raced out to a 9-0 lead in the first quarter and wrapped an 11-goal run around the half in the 19-score win, tying a school record for fewest goals allowed in a single game (fourth time, last: April 6, 2022 at Radford, W 18-3).

The Camels out-shot Wofford 37-8 for the day, notching two shutout quarters for the third time this season.

Rasa Welsh paced Campbell with six points on a goal and five assists, while Olivia Ohlmann tallied five points on three goals and two assists. Welsh also added four draw controls with two ground balls and caused two turnovers.

Sam Bischoff posted a game-high four goals with six draw controls, with Ally Heath and Grace Tompkins also registering four points apiece for the Camels, who hit the 20-goal mark for the first time this season, posting a season-high 35 points.

Joslin Hanbury and Lexi Goff also scored three goals each, while Chandler Stewart picked up three ground balls with two caused turnovers, one of 14 different Camels to cause turnovers in the win. Rebekah Taylor and Brooke Cressy also caused two turnovers with two ground balls.

Leah Hurley led Wofford with a goal and seven draw controls.

Next up, the Camels will head back on the road, traveling to Gardner-Webb on Wednesday, April 12. Campbell returns home for three of its final four regular season contests, hosting Longwood on April 15.
