Previous Meeting
Campbell made the trip to Conway, S.C. on March 14 and fell to the Chanticleers 12-9. Coastal tagged
Hunter Loyd for a nine-run third inning to go up 9-0. The Camels fought back with nine of their own over the next two frames to cut the deficit to 10-9, but never drew even and ultimately lost by three.
Jarrod Belbin had three hits, while both he and Arnold drove in three runs on the day.
Know Your Opponent
Coastal has been on a tear, going from unranked the last time the teams met, to No. 17 in the polls. Now 20-9, 9-3, the Chanticleers have won Sun Belt series over Texas State, Georgia State and Georgia Southern.
You can expect plenty of offense at Jim Perry Stadium this week. Like Campbell, Coastal ranks in the top 10 nationally in most offensive categories including third in scoring (10.4 runs/game), fifth in average (.328), sixth in OBP (.439), and eighth in slugging (.566).
Last Time Out
Campbell took the series at Presbyterian after splitting Thursday's doubleheader and picking up a win late Friday night after multiple rain delays.
Cade Kuehler turned in arguably the best start of his career Thursday night, striking out 13 and allowing just one hit over six innings of work, but didn't receive enough run support to earn the win.
Jackson Roberts turned in a big-time relief outing Friday, tossing 5.2 innings allowing only one hit and one run while striking out eight to give Campbell time to break the tie with three runs in the sixth and take the series.
