BUIES CREEK, N.C. – With a 3.495 GPA for the 2022-23 academic year, Campbell University's women were presented the Intercollegiate Tennis Association team academic award.
Furthermore, six Campbell individuals –
Anna Head,
Anna-Marie Kopecka,
Mariana Ossa,
Veronika Prospalova,
Mialy Ranaivo and
Abbie Tyler – were named ITA scholar-athlete for 2022-23.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must meet the following requirements: 1) have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and 2) be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must meet the following requirements: 1) have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.0 scale).
Within the sport of tennis, student-athletes continue to exceed expectations in the classroom and on the court. In 2023, 1,513 Division I Women's student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, and 234 women's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.
Seven Camels were named to the 2022-23 Big South Presidential Honor Roll with
Tamsin Hart joining Head, Kopecka, Ossa, Prospalova, Ranaivo and Tyler on the list.
