BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell women's soccer fell to the visiting East Carolina Pirates, 1-0, Sunday afternoon at the Eakes Athletics Complex.
The Pirates scored early, as Lucy Fazackerley headed in an assist from Catherine Holbrook in the fifth minute. Â
Amber Liston created a chance for herself in the 20th minute. She drove hard at the near post and tried to fire it past the keeper on the near side, but the opposing goalie was up to the task and corralled the shot.
The Fighting Camels' best chance came in the 81st minute. Bayleigh Humbert played a through ball to Alyssa Tucker, who dribbled the ball into the box and took a shot with her right foot. The shot forced a save from Maeve English, who pushed the shot barely over the crossbar.

Head Coach Jeff Gross
On what the team will focus on this week leading up to the Davidson match
"Rest and recovery. Clearly, we are a little beat up, so we're going to have to give them a few days, let their bodies regenerate and hopefully regenerate their spirits. Then, we'll get back to working on how we want to play the game."
