Campbell set for rematch at Elon

BUIES CREEK – Campbell is set to face Elon for the second time in a week, this time at their place Thursday night. The Camels will look to complete the season sweep having downed the Phoenix 78-68 last Thursday at Gore Arena.

Previous Matchup
Anthony Dell'Orso poured in 29 points and 9 rebounds to lead Campbell past Elon 78-68. The Camels had just a one-point lead at halftime but controlled the second half, pushing the lead as high as 16. Campbell shot 59% in the second half and did not trail after the break.
 
Jasin Sinani, Laurynas Vaistaras, and Elijah Walsh all scored in double figures for the Camels.
 
Know Your Opponent
Elon rebounded from last Thursday's loss to pick up a 80-74 win at Hampton. The Phoenix now sit at 9-12, 2-6, leaving them in 13th in the CAA standings.
 
Zac Ervin came off the bench for Elon in the previous meeting to score a team-high 19 points and knocked down four triples. Ervin hit three more at Hampton to make him Elon's leading three-point shooter this year with 37 made 3s at a 40% clip. Rob Higgins leads the Phoenix in scoring in league play with 13.4 ppg.
 
Elon averages 76.9 ppg, the third-best offense in the CAA.
 
Last Time out
Campbell fell to Charleston 90-67 Saturday afternoon. It was the most points surrendered by Campbell this season and the highest opponent field goal percentage of the year, with the Cougars becoming the first team to shoot better than 50% from the floor.
 
Charleston wasn't afraid to let it fly from deep, going 12-39 from beyond the arc. Jasin Sinani led Campbell with a career-high 21 points.
 
Looking Ahead
The Camels head to the coast to face UNCW Saturday night at 7 p.m. for the first of two meetings between the old foes this season.
 
Campbell returns home Feb. 8-10 to host Northeastern and Stony Brook.
