Jerry Smith has been around Buies Creek since the late 1950s, and still is a fixture at Fighting Camel games and in the community... Student, Coach, basketball announcer… he has done it all.
 
Smith graduated from Campbell in the mid-1960s and embarked on a decades long journey in education and coaching, both at his alma mater and in the North Carolina public schools.
 
After retiring, he moved back to Buies Creek, where you can find him around Keith Hills Golf Course and at most Campbell football and basketball games…
