Williams promoted to Senior Associate A.D.

Veteran executive staff member oversees department’s marketing, communications and branding

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Director of Athletics Hannah Bazemore has announced the promotion of Jason Williams to Senior Associate Athletics Director for Marketing, Communications and Branding, a key executive leadership role that will help shape the strategic vision, brand growth and national positioning of Campbell Athletics.

A fixture in Fighting Camels athletics for the last two decades, Williams previously oversaw the department's branding, communications and creative content. In his new role, he will expand his leadership to include marketing efforts. Williams will now oversee the development and execution of integrated brand, marketing and storytelling initiatives that support and promote the Fighting Camels' 21 sports.

"Few people embody Campbell Athletics the way Jason does," said Bazemore. "For nearly two decades, he has poured his talent, creativity and heart into building and elevating our brand. His leadership has strengthened how we tell our story, and he understands both who we are and where we are going. Jason is a trusted voice on our executive team and a steady force behind so much of our growth and momentum. This promotion reflects the confidence we have in his vision and the continued impact he will make on our student-athletes, coaches and the entire Campbell community."

Williams' promotion reflects Campbell Athletics' continued commitment to investing in leadership that strengthens the department's visibility, competitive profile and connection to the campus and broader community.

"I'm so grateful to serve at a place that means so much to me," said Williams.  "Thank you to Hannah Bazemore for this opportunity and for her trust and belief in my impact. I also want to thank my wife, Courtney, and sons, Nolan and Graham. I would not be in this position without their support, inspiration and love. Campbell has become home to my family over these nearly 19 years, and, along with so many special people, has shaped so much of my personal and professional life, continually providing meaningful opportunities and challenges. I look forward to continuing to serve alongside our tremendous team in support of our Fighting Camel student-athletes, coaches, staff, campus and community."

As a member of the department's executive leadership team, Williams helps guide strategic planning and long-range growth initiatives for Campbell Athletics, while also serving as a member of the Hall of Fame committee.

Williams is also responsible for brand management of the Camels, handles future football scheduling, and has been the sport administrator for Campbell's wrestling program since 2024.

He joined the Campbell staff in 2007 as a media services assistant and served as assistant and associate director until 2015.  He was elevated to director of communications 2015-22, and promoted to Associate AD, Communications & Branding in 2022.

After working with a number of Camel programs throughout his time in Buies Creek, Williams is currently Campbell's primary communications contact for football, swimming and cheerleading, while also overseeing Campbell's overall athletics department communications needs.

During the 2022-23 season, Williams guided Campbell Athletics' brand refresh project, which included a new visual identity featuring new logos and word marks, a simplified color palette, and official typography fonts.

Aside from serving as a liaison between several Fighting Camel programs and the media, Williams is the department's lead webmaster for GoCamels.com, while also helping spearhead Campbell's social media and graphic design efforts. He also writes for GoCamels.com and various game day publications, keeps in-game statistics, publishes game notes and designs various publications, including media guides and record books for his primary sports.

Named Campbell's Support Staff Member of the Year at the 2015 CAMMYS, Williams has also served as the primary contact for the Camels' baseball, women's basketball, wrestling, lacrosse, volleyball, softball, men's and women's tennis, track & field and cross country programs since joining the Campbell staff in 2007, promoting several conference championship and NCAA tournament teams, All-Americans, academic All-Americans, conference players and coaches of the year, as well as a multitude of other honors.

A native of Rich Square, N.C., Williams edited Campbell football game programs from 2009-11. In 2010-11, he was a member of the Campbell women's basketball grant team, designed to increase awareness, exposure and attendance for the sport.
