BUIES CREEK, N.C. – After collecting 19 tackles with 3.0 stops for loss at No. 15 William & Mary, Campbell linebacker
Jalen Brooks has been named honorable mention Stats Perform FCS National Defensive Player of the Week for Week 8 college football games ending on Oct. 19.
The FCS National Awards are presented by FedEx.
Brooks totaled 19 tackles, one shy of the Campbell single-game record (Carlos Merritt, 20, vs. Jacksonville 2017), including 3.0 stops for loss with 1.0 sack at No. 15 William & Mary. The redshirt senior linebacker's 19 stops were a career-high for the North Carolina transfer, who tallied his second double digit tackle game of the season, and his second straight outing with a sack.
His 19 stops were the most since the 2023 season opener, matching teammate
CJ Tillman's performance against then No. 4 William & Mary at Barker-Lane Stadium.
The Fighting Camels return home this weekend, Saturday, October 26, taking on North Carolina A&T (4:00 p.m. kickoff) for 2024 CU Homecoming. Season, single game and mini-plan ticket options for the 2024 football season are available at
