LYNCHBURG, VA. – Several Camels posted season-best times, while Campbell finished fourth in the TYR '85 Invitational, hosted by Liberty University.
The Camels totaled 1,178 points over the three day event. The host Flames took the team title with 3,026.5 points, followed by Ohio at 2,937 and Saint Francis at 1,452.5. PennWest rounded out the team standings with 740 points.
Leading off the event, the Camels placed third in the 200 free relay with a 1:36.42 mark.
On Saturday,
Nicole Rubino took sixth in the 200 free with a time of 1:52.45, while
Arabella Butera also claimed a sixth place showing in the 100 breaststroke with a 1:03.43 mark.
Julia Garcia added a seventh place finish in the 400 IM with a time of 4:26.01.
In Sunday's action,
Katarina Gagnon highlighted the day with a 17:16.04 performance in the 1650 free, good for fourth in the event. Butera then added a fifth place finish in the 200 breaststroke with her 2:17.51 mark, while Rubino posted a 51.64 in the 100 free to finish sixth.
The Camels also took fourth in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:30.50.
Next up, the Camels will take an extended break, heading to UNC Asheville on January 18, returning home on January 25 for a matchup with UNC Pembroke.
