BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell made its 2025-26 regular season home debut on Saturday, posting season-best times throughout the day.
The Camels fell 142-119 to UNC Asheville and 198-63 to East Carolina on CU's Homecoming Saturday at the Johnson Aquatic Center. ECU also topped the Bulldogs 191-70.
Camels took top three finishes eight times on the day, with 17 individuals or relay squads lowering times from the start of the 2025-26 season.
Katarina Gagnon took a runner-up finish in the 1000 free, posting a 10:38.45 mark, down from 10:56.60 in CU's season opener. Gagnon also placed second in the 500 free with a 5:13.13 mark (lowered from 5:20.22).
Camels took second and third in the 100 breaststroke, with
Bailey Franci clocking in at 1:06.87, an improvement from 1:09.97, and
Sophia Grubbs notching a time of 1:07.07, besting her previous time of 1:08.2. Franci also took second in the 200 breaststroke with a 2:23.52 mark, while Grubbs tallied another season best with a 2:28.99 (prev. 2:33.90).
Other significant time drops included a pair of 200 medley relay teams (1:50.69 to 1:50.09, and 1:53.66 to 1:50.52),
Nicole Rubino (1:57.79 to 1:56.84) in the 200 free,
Natalie Kingsbury (1:02.18 to 1:01.67) in the 100 back,
Julia Garcia (2:12.15 to 2:11.94) and
Abby Lederer (2:28.37 to 2:22.50) in the 200 fly, Berni Musto (25.78 to 25.30) in the 50 free,
Chloe Vitatoe (2:15.61 to 2:13.55) in the 200 back,
Emma Marsalek (5:44.86 to 5:33.68) in the 500 free,
Abby Lederer (1:04.28 to 1:03.71) in the 100 fly, and Sam Chemacki (2:20.30 to 2:17.41) and
Suriya Pathammavong (2:23.50 to 2:19.67) in the 200 IM.
