Box Score ATLANTA, GA. - Campbell erased a 13-point deficit at the start of the fourth quarter and claimed a 71-67 overtime win over Purdue Fort Wayne on Wednesday afternoon at the GSU Convocation Center.
Gianni Boone led five Camels in double-figures with 15 points while Audrey Fuller secured her first career double-double with 11 points and a career-high 12 boards for Campbell (5-2) who picks up its second win at the GSU Thanksgiving Tournament. Taeya Steinauer scored a career-high 16 points off the bench to lead Purdue Fort Wayne (3-4), who drops its second game of the tournament.
The Camels trailed 22-16 into halftime and fell behind by as many as 15 in the third quarter as the Mastodons knocked down 7-of-9 threes in the period.
Down 51-38 to start the fourth quarter, Campbell held Purdue Fort Wayne scoreless for the first 5:38 of the period as Olivia Tucker poured in seven points to cut the deficit to one. CU knotted things up on Boone's free throw with 2:10 to go before Audra Emmerson knocked in a three to put the Mastodons back ahead with 1:25 left. Courtney Dahlquist answered with a three of her own to tie things back up with 1:01 to go.
Boone had a look at the go-ahead basket for the Camels with 22 seconds remaining but missed on a floater. Campbell forced a turnover on the final possession of regulation to force overtime. CU held Purdue Fort Wayne to just five points on 2-of-18 shooting from the floor in the fourth quarter.
Campbell took its first lead since 7:01 in the second quarter on a free throw by Gemma Nunez to open overtime. Hadleigh Dill knocked down a pair of free throws immediately after following a technical foul on Purdue Fort Wayne's head coach while Boone made a layup to put the Camels ahead 61-56 in the first 40 seconds of the period.
Nunez gave Campbell its largest lead of the game at 64-58 on a three that rattled in as the shot clock expired with 1:34 remaining. The Mastodons made it a one-point game with less than 30 seconds left as Emmerson knocked in her third three of the game.
Campbell held off the Mastodons after a three from Emmerson made it a one-point game with less than 30 seconds to go as Fuller and Dill combined to make 4-of-5 free throws in the final 18 seconds.
Boone secured eight boards and added a steal and block while Fuller dished out three assists to pair with her double-double. Tucker scored all 12 of her points in the second half while Dahlquist finished with 11 points, three boards and two blocks. Nunez added 10 points, five rebounds and six assists while both Dill and Ciara Alexander scored five points off the bench.
Steinhauer scored 11 of her 16 points in the third quarter alone, knocking down 3-of-3 threes. Emmerson finished with 15 points while Lauren Ross scored 14 for the Mastodons.
Campbell shot 31.1 percent (20-of-64) overall, 28.6 percent (8-of-28) from three and knocked down 23-of-33 free throws. The Mastodons shot 32.9 percent (23-of-70) from the floor, 37.5 percent (12-of-32) from three and converted 9-of-14 free throws.
The Camels return to action for the final day of the GSU Thanksgiving Tournament on Thanksgiving Day at noon against hosts Georgia State on ESPN+.
