Series History
Saturday marks the first meeting between Campbell and Drexel. The Camels are just 0-1 against the (now six) teams that compromise the "Philly Big Five," a 2008 loss to Penn.
Know Your Opponent
Drexel got off to a roaring start in league play reaching 6-0 to sit in first place after the first three weekends. The Dragons have cooled off since and are 3-4 since then. They'll be coming off a two-point home win over Hofstra Thursday night.
Amari Williams leads the Dragons averaging team-bests 12.3 ppg and 8.1 rebounds per game. Williams leads a balanced scoring effort with Justin Moore scoring 12.2 ppg, and 10 players averaging better than five points a night.
The Dragons are coached by Zach Spiker in his eighth year with the program.
Last Time Out
Xander Rice banked home a 40-footer at the buzzer to stun Campbell Thursday night at Monmouth. Campbell led by five with 10 seconds to play, but a putback and pair of threes from Xander Rice turned into an 8-2 run in the seconds for Monmouth to pull off a stunning victory.
Dell'Orso turned in a 31-point, 10-rebound outing and
Elijah Walsh tallied the first double-double of his career. The duo did their best to keep up with Rice who posted a game-high 37 for the Hawks.
Looking Ahead
Campbell returns home next week to host Hampton Thursday night at 7 p.m. and UNCW Monday night (Feb. 26) at 8:30 p.m. Thursday night is Country Night against Hampton, with country themed music, giveaways, and games.
