Hanbury leads Camels past Radford 15-10

Hanbury nets career-high seven goals for first win of the 2024 seaosn

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Joslin Hanbury scored a career-high seven goals as Campbell picked up its first win of the season in a 15-10 victory over Radford Friday night at the Student Outdoor Recreation Complex. Campbell improves to 1-2 overall with the win while Radford falls to 0-4.

The Camels took a 6-5 lead into halftime behind a first half hat trick by Hanbury. A redshirt-senior, Hanbury added another goal in the third and tallied three more in the fourth to help Campbell pull away. Hanbury snapped her previous career high of six goals, set in 2022 also at Radford, with 4:37 left in the fourth period.

Bridget Ahlgren netted her first career hat trick, scoring a goal in all but the opening period. Both Hanbury and Ahlgren alongside Katie Ochall recorded four ground balls while Rebekah Taylor added three. Hailey Kohlmann totaled two caused turnovers while Lexi Goff led the way with eight draw controls.

Emma Strickland picked up her first win in goal, tallying nine saves on the day.

Radford was led by a hat trick by Margaret Gleason while Molly O'Brien added two goals.

CU outshot the Highlanders 40-21 including 35-19 on attempts on goal. CU went 18-for-21 on clears and held a 15-14 advantage on draw controls.

Campbell returns to action next Friday as it hosts San Diego State at 3:00 PM.
