BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Coming off its best team finish of the season, Campbell heads to the 52nd Gators Invitational to face a field packed with nationally-ranked teams this weekend at Mark Bostick GC in Gainesville, Fla.
Ranked No. 99 in the NCAA ratings, Campbell faces a field that includes five teams among the nations' top 20 and three more in the top 50. Nine of the 14 teams in the field compete in Power 5 conferences, including host and No. 10 Florida.
Two weeks ago, at the Sea Best Intercollegiate, four Camels finished among the top 20 individuals and CU produced its two best rounds of the year. Freshman
Alicia Olsson finished T7 to log her third top-10 finish of the season (72-73-75—220) after making 41 pars. Fellow freshman
Mira Berglund (72-69-81—222) posted her best individual result (T11) of the year, while sophomore
Isabella Hahne (74-70-79—223) tied for 13th. Redshirt sophomore
Izabella Grimbrandt placed T17th (71-74-79—224), her best individual showing of the season.
In Gainesville, in addition to the 10th-ranked Gators, the Camels will compete against No. 13 Ole Miss, No. 15, Clemson, No. 16 UCF and No. 17 Arizona. The event includes four teams from the ACC, two from the SEC, and one each from the PAC-12, Big Ten and Big 12.
Two Camels will be in this year's lineup from last season's squad that finished seventh in the 2023 Gators Invitational.
Isabella Hahne led the Camels on the individual leaderboard finishing T11 at 2-over 142 (71-71), while
Sanna Lundmark finished +4 (71-73—144) and tied for 17th.
Due to expected stormy weather over the weekend, the 2024 Gators Invitational has been moved up one day to Friday with a shotgun start at 10:30 a.m.
Teams will complete their practice rounds tomorrow morning and then start play of the tournament. The final round/remainder of the tournament is set to take place on Saturday.
Campbell will be paired with fellow CAA member Charleston and Florida Atlantic for Friday's first two rounds and open from the 11th through 14th tees for a shotgun start. Live scoring will be available at Golfstat.com.

The Course – Mark Bostick GC (Par 70, 6002 yards): For more than 80 years, the Mark Bostick Golf Course has anchored the northwest corner of the University of Florida's Gainesville campus. Originally designed by renowned architect Donald Ross during the 1920s, the course has evolved over the years to take on its own distinct personality, most recently completing a $600,000 renovation in August of 2014.
The Coach: Now in his 34th year in charge of the Campbell men's golf program and 33rd as head coach of the CU women,
John Crooks has been named league coach of the year 23 times in his tenure. His teams have combined to earn 35 NCAA post-season trips, including 11 in a row for the women. His teams have won 160 tournaments and with 99 career tournament titles, Crooks trails only Dan Brooks of Duke (141) on the all-time coaching victories list among Division I women's coaches. He has guided his teams to 27 league titles, including 19 on the women's side and eight in men's competition.

Freshman
Alicia Olsson (Amal, Sweden) owns a team-leading 73.9 scoring average, including six rounds of par, or better, golf through Campbell's first five events. She posted a T7 individual finish in her collegiate debut at the Golfweek Fall Challenge (73-71-70—214, +1) and closed the fall campaign with a T5 (76-75-71—222) showing at The Southern before her T7 (72-73-75—222) at the Sea Best event.
Red-shirt sophomore
Izabella Grimbrandt (Stockholm, Sweden) is coming off her best finish of the 2023-24 campaign, T17 at the Sea Best Intercollegiate (71-74-79—224). She tied for 21st place (74-74-75—223) at the Red Raider Invitational. She owns a 75.0 scoring average this season and has one career top 10 finish (T8 at the 2022 Golfweek Fall Challenge).
Senior
Sanna Lundmark (Skellefea, Sweden) carries a 75.6 scoring average into the Gators Invitational. She is a three-time WGCA All-America Scholar and all-conference performer and owns six career top-10 finishes. Lundmark's best finish of the season was a T29 (73-75-74—222) outing at the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational.
Freshman
Mira Berglund (Oernskoeldsvik, Sweden) owns a 75.3 scoring average over four events and is coming off a season-best T11 finish (72-69-81—222) at the Sea Best Intercollegiate, where she shot a collegiate low 3-under in the second round.
Sophomore
Isabella Hahne (Kungsbacka, Sweden) turned in her third top-20 finish of the season at the Sea Best Intercollegiate (T13, 74-70-79—223). She was named CAA golfer of the week after finishing T8 at the Red Raider Invitational (70-73-72—215). Hahne owns a 75.1 stroke average this season and the 2023 Big South freshman of the year has four top-10 finishes in 15 career starts.
