Camels fall to Towson 6-5

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Campbell fell short to Towson 6-5 in game two of their home CAA series matchup. 

The Camels started out hot in the second inning when Brooke Carey hit a single and then advanced to second on the throw, bringing in Tristin Doster and Delaney McDilda. The Tigers (10-14) quickly answered in the third inning when there were six runs scored. 

Makayla McClain hit an RBI double in the fourth that brought in Allyiah Swiney. Tyra Parker then hit a single that brought in McClain. To give the Camels their fifth and final run of the game, Lindsay Lumsden hit a single that brought in Parker. 

Faith McCullough (1-0) was credited with the win after pitching 3.2 innings and allowing four hits and no runs. Erin Brown pitched 3.1 innings and allowed nine hits and five earned runs. 

Megan Gregory (1-4) was charged with the loss after pitching 0.1 innings and allowing three hits and three earned runs. Hannah Leierer pitched a total of 5.0 innings and allowed five hits, no runs and three strikeouts. Kayla Howald also got some time in the circle, pitching 1.2 innings and allowing three hits and no earned runs.
