Camels top No. 3 ranked Duke 3-2

DURHAM, N.C. - Campbell broke Duke's 20 home game win streak when they won 3-2 on Wednesday night. This win was the Camels highest-ranked win in program history, and also the first time they have won against a top 25 ranked team since 2018. 

The Camels got their first run in the second inning after Mariana Rodriguez reached on a fielding error that brought in Madilyn Gillespie and Tyra Parker. Alyssa Henault then hit an RBI single that brought in Allyiah Swiney for their third and final run of the game. 

The Blue Devils scored their two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, when Amiah Burgess hit a double that brought in Ana Gold and Kelly Torres. 

Jala Wright (12-1) was charged with the loss after pitching 7.0 innings and allowing three hits, zero earned runs and eight strikeouts. 

Isabella Smith (16-5) was credited with the win after pitching 7.0 innings, allowing four hits, two earned runs and four strikeouts.
