Campbell defeats College of Charleston 6-5

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Campbell tops College of Charleston in a close 6-5 game. 

The Camels got their first run in the second inning after Tyra Parker hit an RBI single to third base. Madilyn Gillespie started off the third inning when she hit an RBI triple and Allyiah Swiney followed up with an RBI single to left field. In the fourth inning Delaney McDilda stole second and Lindsay Lumsden scored, to give the Camels their fourth run of the game. 

College of Charleston came alive in the sixth inning when Mia Dittoe hit an RBI single, and then Kaytlin Stacey hit a two run home run to give the Cougars their third run of the game. 

Lumsden answered in the bottom of the sixth when she also hit a two run home run to give the Camels their sixth and final run. In the seventh inning Dittoe hit a two run RBI single to give the Cougars their fifth and final run of the game. 

McKenna Kelly (3-10) was charged with the loss after pitching 5.1 innings and allowing 10 hits, six earned runs and two strikeouts. 

Hannah Leierer (2-7) was credited with the win after pitching 6.2 innings, allowing four hits, three earned runs and two strikeouts.
