Towson defeats Campbell 17-10

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Lindsey Marshall netted five goals and assisted on another to lead Towson (7-8, 4-3 CAA) past Campbell (3-13, 0-7) 17-10 Saturday afternoon at Barker-Lane Stadium.

Marshall provided the first three goals for Towson who led 5-1 through the first quarter and 8-2 at halftime.

The Camels cut the deficit to as few as five in the third quarter thanks to consecutive goals from Delaney Nicolaus and Emily WIlson. Towson responded with three straight scores to extend its advantage and led by as many as nine late in the final period.

Wilson secured her first career hat trick with her third and final goal of the day off a free position in the final seconds of the third quarter. Ally Heath, Caroline Laur and Nicolaus each scored twice for the Camels while Joslin Hanbury added two assists.

Katie Roszko, Halley Koras and Hannah Delahaye all added two goals for the Tigers while Lindsay Clarke had three assists and a goal.

Towson held a 41-27 advantage on shots, including 25-18 on goal, and won the majority of draws on the day at 17-14.

Campbell returns to action next Saturday at noon as it hosts William & Mary on Senior Day.
