Camels run rule Hampton 12-0 in five innings

HAMPTON, VA. - Campbell beat Hampton 12-0 in a five inning run rule in game one of the weekend series. 

In the first inning Lindsay Lumsden hit a sac fly that brought in Alyssa Henault and gave the Camels their first run of the game. Makayla McClain hit an RBI single in the second inning to bring in another run. The Camels scored eight runs in the third inning, with two RBI singles from Tyra Parker, one RBI single fromTristin Doster, Delaney McDilda, and Henault, an RBI double from Lumsden, and two runs on errors.

In the fifth inning Ashlyn Porter hit an RBI single that brought in Charlie Montgomery, and then Doster hit an RBI single that brought in Porter for the last run of the game. 

Jordyn Scott (0-2) was charged with the loss after pitching 4.0 innings and allowing 10 hits, four earned runs and two strikeouts. 

Isabella Smith (13-5) was credited with the win after pitching 3.0 innings, allowing one hit, no runs and seven strikeouts. Katherine Serna also came in and pitched 2.0 innings and allowed no hits and no runs.
